Narooma Kinema reopens after rain damage

04 Mar, 2010 08:42 AM
NAROOMA Kinema reopened for business on Saturday after it was forced to close for two weeks as a result of storm damage from the recent heavy rains.

Narooma School of Arts president Jock Munro said everyone affected greatly appreciated the prompt action last week by Rod Patmore and his team from Narooma Plumbing Services who re-roofed the affected areas as well as Cameron Rowley of Narooma Electrics who rebuilt the main powerboard.

“They worked in with our lessees John and Janette Griffths and us as landlords to minimize the amount of time the Kinema was closed,” Mr Munro said.

The building, the town’s original multi-purpose hall, is owned by the Narooma community and held in trust for the community by Narooma School of Arts & Soldiers’ War Memorial Hall Incorporated.

Everyone who lives in the area is eligible for membership of the School of Arts.
