Near collision ends with assault

THE police utility was allegedly almost run off the road by an oncoming vehicle on Punkalla Road, Tilba at 9pm on Thursday. Officers followed the vehicle to a Central Tilba address where a 47-year-old woman allegedly became combative, resisted arrest and assaulted the two male officers before being handcuffed and subdued.

The woman was arrested for driving offences, resisting arrest and assaulting police.

Shoplifter gets one month jail

STAFF at a Dalmeny supermarket on Tuesday evening last week saw a man allegedly shoplift a bottle of rum with witnesses also seeing the man accidentally drop the bottle outside the shop.

Police on Thursday afternoon after viewing closed circuit television footage recognised the man walking on the Princes Highway, Narooma and arrested him for shoplifting and for an outstanding warrant.

The 22-year-old Wallaga Lake man appeared in Narooma Local Court that afternoon pleading guilty and being sentenced to one month in jail.

Domestic assault arrest

A 24-YEAR-old Dalmeny man has been arrested and charged with assault and possess prohibited drug after a domestic incident at Dalmeny on Sunday afternoon. The male is alleged to have assaulted his partner by grabbing her on the wrist and threatening harm.

The female left the premises and police attended the premises later that evening where the male was arrested for this offence and the offence of possess prohibited drug as he was in possession of cannabis. The male will appear at the Moruya Local Court on December 11.

Stand off ends peacefully

POLICE from Batemans Bay and a negotiator were called in when a man armed with knives refused to come out of a Narooma house at 10.15pm on Saturday. The siege ended when the man came out and put down the knives.

Newspapers set alight

ANYONE that saw someone set newspapers alight and smear sunscreen on appliances at the Narooma Plaza laundromat sometime between 12noon and 5.30pm on Saturday should call police at 4476 2044.

School vandalism costs thousands

POLICE are also appealing for information as to who caused at least $2000 worth of damage by smashing at least eight windows at Narooma High School and also attempting to break a roller door to the trade shed sometime between 6pm on Thursday and 8am on Friday, November 13.

Window smash witnesses sought

THE rear window of a Toyota Camry parked outside the Lighthouse Surgery at 3.45pm on Monday, November 9 was smashed with a small hole located. Anyone who saw what happened should contact Narooma police.

Marijuana located in house

POLICE seized a small amount of marijuana after conducting a search warrant on a Narooma residence at 4pm on Monday, November 9.
