IT just gets better and better on the local food and wine front in the Bermagui/Cobargo region.
Belgrave Park Winery has just won another three medals - this time at the 2012 South Coast Wine Show, where they competed against the best wineries from the Southern Highlands, Shoalhaven and South Coast.
The awards were for their “Hair of the Dog” Merlot (Silver Medal), White Shiraz (Silver Medal) and Viognier (Bronze Medal), all grown and made at the Cobargo winery.
The Belgrave Park Winery medal tally now stands at 26 medals in both national and regional wine shows.
“The Bermagui-Cobargo-Tilba area is going from strength to strength,” owner and winemaker Warwick Adams said.
“As a small winery focussing on small hand-crafted wine batches, we can consistently produce top quality wines - the equal of anything in Australia.”
He noted that the recent successes of local Bermagui restaurants in the Good Food Guide and Good Pub Guide were a great boost.
“Now these medals show people the strength of the local produce, as well as proving once and for all that the South Coast does have great wines,” Warwick said.
You can taste and buy the whole range of medal winning wines at the Belgrave Park cellar door located just off the Princes Highway south of Cobargo, which is open on weekends.
