SUNDAY, January 31 saw 10 swimmers from Narooma Club travel to Batemans Bay for the annual Carnival. Everyone swam well, with plenty of medals and PB's on the day.
Rory Spurgeon was the youngest member of the team at seven years old. He did 100 per cent PBs, with his best swim a 2min 4sec in the 9 and under 100 breastroke, which gained him a silver medal.
Jackson Taylor swam in all strokes, his best swim being a 44.9s in the 50 free. Elisabeth Halsey also did great times, winning a silver medal in the 50 fly and a bronze in the 50 back.
With very little training, Crystal Czubara managed 3 PB's, including a seven second PB in the 200 I/M.
As always, Clifford Taylor swam hard all day, winning a total of seven gold's and a silver.
The senior members of the team also stepped up on the day. Even with a break from training, Madelyne Czubara managed a bronze medal for the 50 breastroke. Amy Spurgeon swam three great PB's, her best being a 3 second PB in the 50 breastroke, gaining fourth place with a time of 45.6 sec.
Zoe Field came away with a gold and a silver medal, and swam well in her least favourite event - 50m breastroke.
Khan Schroeder-Turner and Lewis Robertson battled it out all day in the 14 year boys age group. Both boys did several big PB's. Lewis took an amazing nine seconds off his 100 fly and came away with a total of nine medals.
Khan won six medals, including a four second PB in his 200 breastroke.

Congratulations to Clifford Taylor who qualified for four swims in the State U-12 Championship at SOPAC. He attained a Top Ten ranking with 9th place in the 12 year and under 200m Backstroke.
