Shamrocks rugby get a lifeline

Tuross Bodalla Rugby have received a lifeline from Far South Coast Rugby Union executive who have offered the reformed Club extended time to organise themselves for the 2005 competition.

Tuross Bodalla Rugby appeared easily set to play this season when early meetings compiled a list of 25 player willing and keen to play for the reformed once mighty Shamrocks team.

The potential list failed to commit to training when it counted with only eight regulars turning out for training during February and, based on this the steering committee and coaching thought it would not be possible this season.

However, with Far South Coast Rugby offering extended time for the Rugby players to form the chance is still there for this team to compete this season.

A quick turn a round in training numbers will see the Club play in three weeks time at Tuross however things need to happen quickly.

Starting tonight Wednesday April 6, a training and registration session will will be held at Tuross at 6 for at 6.30 pm start.

Providing improved numbers are present at the session a commitment will be made to play the first trial game within two weeks. Recently appointed Far South Coast Rugby full time Development Officer Jerremy Osborne has located residence to Tuross and is keen to lead the Shamrocks.

Jeremy has extensive Rugby background having played for the strong St Edmunds College team in Canberra, represented Australian Schoolboys and, for the past few years played first grade Rugby for ACT Easts in the Premier Rugby competition in Canberra.

Jeremy stated; "it would be great to be involved in a new local team.

"The challenges would be rewarding for everyone involved from players and committee to supporters.

"I really hope the numbers commit next Tuesday and a regular weekly local team is able to enjoy everything Rugby has to offer".

All potential players and interested committee persons are strongly invited and encouraged to attend Wednesday crucial training session rain hail or shine as without good numbers no further seesion can be arranged.
