Narooma News editorial: January 27

27 Jan, 2010 10:45 AM
Another Australia Day has come and gone and wasn’t it a great day as usual.

The Narooma District has a lot to proud of and Ben Bate winning the Eurobodalla Citizen of the Year was a great accomplishment.

Ben is involved in many aspects of the community and is a worthy winner.

The Volunteer Rescue Association is just one of his pet activities and more people should be like Ben and become involved.

The rescue squad is calling for new members and now would be a good time to join!

The front page of the Narooma News deals with attempts to rescue fish from Nangudga Lake, which is a controversial body of water judging by the letters page and emails to the editor.

While some are frustrated by what they say is inaction in what is a sanctuary zone, there appears to be little that can be done.

The only thing that will help all our lakes and parched paddocks and forests will be rain.
