THE Kindergarten Penguins, Pelicans and Possums classes at Narooma Public School were very lucky to be invited by Eurobodalla Shire Council’s parks supervisor Peter Hodge to view and then choose the plan for the new playground going in at Apex Park.
The children viewed the plans on the interactive whiteboard as well as looking at large paper plans and carefully considered their options. There was a lot of excitement and discussion and the children then voted to come to their decision.
The children asked if they were allowed to make a few minor changes to the plans and council agreed much to the children’s delight.
The $60,000 Moduplay playground will feature a colourful ship, complete with a swinging net and spinning climber.
Mayor Lindsay Brown said council has removed the old playground and with Moduplay install the new one to be ready by Friday, December 7.
"Council is planning a special sausage sizzle with the kindergarten classes to celebrate."
Council identified a need to replace the playground through its regular inspection program and budgeted for a new one from its infrastructure fund.
"The new Apex Park playground will join the 35 others maintained by council across the Eurobodalla Shire," Cr Brown said.
