A CAMPER was bitten on the finger by a baby red-bellied black snake after he tried to move it into bushland at the Island View Beach Resort south of Narooma.
Ambulance paramedics were called to the caravan park at 8.56pm on Friday to treat the man, transporting him to Moruya Hospital in a stable condition.
But park manager Jason Beard said he was released that same night after being checked out.
Apparently he told bystanders it was okay to move the snake as he moved them all the time at work.
He was a bit embarrassed upon his return from hospital earning the nickname “Steve Irwin”.
WIRES usually advises to use a squirt of water from a hose to scare off any snakes around people and homes.
