Bermagui Hotel social golfer’s day out at the races

ON Boxing Day we held a trip to Sapphire Coast Race Club track at Kalaru in our bus and had a punt on the horses. We all had a great day with the bookies having a better day. It was welcoming to have the WAG’s out on a trip with us. This was such a success we will be scheduling another trip in the future. Thanks go to the president and committee for the organisation and a special thanks to Charlie “Water Boy” Bennett for driving the bus. See all of you each Sunday for nine holes of golf.

Golfers of any standard welcome each Sunday at 9am at the club. We conduct several trips away each year. Next Sunday’s competition is at Bermagui Golf Club.

From the president and committee we wish our sponsors and everybody a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

We started our game on beautiful Sunday morning and played our usual 9 hole competition at the Bermagui Golf Club. The winner of the day was Kevin “Concrete Hauler” Courage with runner up on a count back being “Lucky” Len Murphy. Happy Hacker of the day was a new player Tim “Tam” Johnston. Nearest the pin winner on the 11th was Graham “Spud” Sthruthers. The lucky player draw went to Charlie “Wounded Tiger” Bennett. Ball winner was Mal “Adjusted” LeComte.

We have raffles and food back at the hotel after each game. Marg Titchener won the leg of ham and Shane “Kiwi” Rowe won the ham shoulder supplied by Zac Needs Butchery. Bermagui Pizza voucher was won by Bob Sirl. Thanks again to our sponsors the Bermagui Beach Hotel, Bermagui Pizza, and Needs Butchery.
