WELCOME to 2013!
What a wonderful week of weather and festivities we’ve had– now we all need is a few more kingfish and marlin to bring even more fishermen to town.
For the most part, local and visitors in the Narooma district have been well behaved and have stayed safe on our roads.
The towns have seemed particularly busy this year but that’s because last year was perhaps a bit slow due to the weather.
While some of have frustrated with the queues and waiting an extra minute to cross the highway, spare a thought for those in places like Kempsey and Bulahdelah were traffic was backed up as much as 25km adding hours to journeys.
I can’t even image a line of traffic 25kms long – that’s crazy! Even Batemans Bay and Moruya experienced traffic back-ups although only a kilometre or two.
So the moral of the story is that while we rely on the tourists, it is great that we still remain somewhat undiscovered and free of mayhem – for now! Let’s hope we never get as developed or busy as those further north….
