A SHORT video depicting outgoing Eurobodalla Shire Council general manager Paul Anderson being hit by a missile has gone viral among councillors.
Deputy mayor Peter Schwarz, recently elected to council on the Eurobodalla Ratepayers Association ticket, emailed the video to Mr Anderson last week with the subject line “Hasta La Vista baby”.
Clr Schwarz explained how the video came to be.
“It is amazing how an iPhone app called Action Movie FX can be newsworthy,” Clr Schwarz said.
“My 15-year-old nephew showed it to me as a bit of a light hearted laugh.
“Over the Christmas period my family and friends, who have great senses of humour, made a few mildly amusing videos using the app providing a few laughs over the festive season.
“Paul Anderson suggested privately that it should be nominated for the Logies best director and best producer category. My nephew has a big future!
“In regards to Paul Anderson leaving the Eurobodalla and heading to Gosford, I am nonplussed about him pursuing his career elsewhere and I wish him the best of luck in his endeavours.”
Councillor Rob Pollock however said the video “demonstrated incredible immaturity”.
“It would be pleasing to see him put as much work into research and reading his council papers as he did imagining something as infantile as this,” Clr Pollock said.
Mr Anderson, who finished up at the shire on Friday, took the video in his stride and said he was looking forward to starting his new job in Gosford later this month.
Mayor Lindsay Brown said the video and email were being assessed through council processes and he would seek advice from the appropriate authorities.
