Woman assaulted
AN argument at a residence on Keating Drive, Bermagui at 5am on New Year’s Day resulted in a 50-year-old man allegedly assaulting a 39-year-old woman.
The woman was taken to Bega Hospital reporting having lost feeling in her right side and was later conveyed to Canberra for additional treatment.
The man later handed himself into police and was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Park fight
A FIGHT between two local men at a caravan park on Wallaga Lake over a relationship issue took place at 3am on New Year’s Day.
The 42-year-old victim suffered injuries including a suspected broken nose, lacerations and swelling before escaping the scene and reporting the matter to police.
Police are investigating and have confiscated registered firearms from the other man, 32, involved in the fight.
Facebook assault
A GROUP of women got into a fight in the parking lot across the street from a hotel in Narooma at 12.30am on Sunday when an argument broke out over a Facebook posting.
A 28-year-old woman allegedly assaulted two other women, aged 27 and 29 now living interstate, who sustained minor injuries including grazes and bruising.
The offender has since been located and charged with two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Run over
A WOMAN ran over the foot of another woman in heavy traffic on Pilot Street at the time of the Narooma New Year’s Eve fireworks show.
The driver was a line of cars when she felt a bump and stopped to discover the other woman on the ground screaming in pain.
Police are still investigating but it appears the pedestrian walked or stumbled into the car being driven by the local woman.
She was transported to Moruya Hospital with a suspected broken ankle.
Hindering police
POLICE attending a McMillan Road, Narooma residence on Saturday morning to speak to a resident made contact with another man and were speaking to him about traffic offences when a third man approached them.
The 26 year old allegedly became confrontational refusing directions to step back, so police eventually decided to issue him with a court attendance notice for hindering police.
Shop altercation
POLICE are investigating an incident at a business in the Narooma Industrial Estate at midday last Wednesday where a 45-year-old woman accompanied by two children allegedly started yelling and threatening a 42-year-old woman.
Car burglary
SOMEONE broke into a car parked in the national park at Mystery Bay smashing the passenger window between 2.30pm and 4.30pm on Saturday stealing an iPod and its connector and spare set of keys.
Yard theft
SOMEONE stole alcohol and cigarettes left on a table overnight on Thursday in a back yard of a house on the Princes Highway, south Narooma.
A vehicle also entered and rummaged through but nothing was stolen.
Seatbelt fine
LOCAL duties police remind motorists they too can fine drivers for traffic offences such as no seatbelt and mobile phone use as was the case on Saturday morning when they stopped and fined a 25-year-old man in a Ford Falcon on McMillan Road, Narooma for not wearing a seatbelt.
Plates stolen
THE licence plates (WYM 145) were stolen off a Ford Territory parked on Wagonga Street, Narooma overnight on Monday, December 31.
