Have your say on Eurobodalla beaches

EUROBODALLA Shire Council is currently preparing a Coastal Zone Management Plan to provide a template for the long-term sustainable management and enjoyment of local beaches.

Council’s coastal planner Norm Lenehan and a representative from consultant Umwelt Australia set up their stall in yesterday’s heat on Narooma main beach to encourage beachgoers to fill in a survey.

“The plan will ultimately deliver an outline of our coast that includes community uses and aspirations, the natural environment and the physical processes and hazards that must be considered when planning how our coastal settlements will evolve over time,” Eurobodalla Shire mayor Lindsay Brown said.

Anyone who missed the stall can fill in the survey online by visiting council’s website, www.esc.nsw.gov.au

Clr Brown said he was encouraging everyone to participate because it was important council captured a wide range of views.

“The coast is important to everyone and we each have a responsibility to ensure the beaches we enjoy today can be enjoyed in the future as well, so come and have a say,” Clr Brown said.
