NAROOMA tree lopper Craig Herman scored his best placing in wood chopping on the weekend since he started competing.
Herman came second in the 300mm underhand event at the Candelo Show on Sunday.
He is currently training to compete in the various wood chopping events on the show circuit.
He may miss the next event in Bombala but definitely plans to compete at the Berry and then Bega shows.
The Cobargo Show, coming up on the weekend of February 9-10, has a few a couple of years not had wood chopping for a couple of years although it does have post ripping and other chainsaw events.
He has been a tree lopper for about 12 years, but he said he was very pleased with his best ever result in the sport he took up a couple of years ago after retiring from surf boat rowing.
