Australia Day special medley event individual and 4BBB stableford.

121 players enjoyed a fantastic Aussie-themed celebration day at beautiful Bermagui. The patriotic field was awash with green and gold, and Aussie flags were flying on the suitably decorated carts and buggies.

The awards presentation was a very amusing affair. Apart from the individual and 4BBB result awards we had prizes for the best dressed lady and man plus best decorated cart and buggy. Our men’s golf barbecue volunteer cooks did a great job in feeding the hungry hordes of blokes and sheilas after the game.

Winner of the Ladies Individual Stableford was Pam Cowderoy on 37 points.

Runner up was Dawn Kenyon on 34 points on countback from third place Michelle Medelis on 34 points.

Winner of the Men’s Individual Stableford was George Law on 41 points.

Runner up was David Moore on 40 points on countback from third place Jochen Adam on 40 points.

Winners of the 4BBB were David Moore and Wayne Douch on 46 points.

On countback the 4BBB runners up were Dave Thomson and Chris Hannebery with 46 points from third placed Nathan Batten and Paul Batten also on 46 points.

Bermagui women's bowls

The holiday season is still attracting bowlers to the green, which shows the interest in “Bowling for Leisure Pleasure”.

Thursday’s social day was successful for Elaine Reid and Denise McGlashan. The envelope draw for winners was the rink with the lowest winning margin, which creates the greatest interest. Raffle winners were regulars – June Simpson and Margaret Duncan.

After heavy rain over night, Sunday dawned attracting the morning mixed group, allowing Claire Luland and Pat Minett a win. The accumulated jackpot was a pleasure for Pat.

Congratulations to all the winners – meet you on the green next week for “fun in the sun”.
