Single lane at Narooma Bridge

TRAFFIC will be slowed and reduced to one lane over the Narooma Bridge for maintenance work possibly for the next 10 weeks.

Bridge work resumed on Monday and the completion date is weather dependent.

In late 2012 Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) carried out work to repair corrosion and to re-paint sections of the bridge and additional work has been identified as part of its maintenance.

Crews will work from 7am to 6pm weekdays and 8am to 1pm on Saturdays. During these hours the speed zone on the bridge will be reduced again to 40km per hour and traffic will be reduced to one lane.

Traffic across the bridge will be managed by portable traffic lights.

Both lanes will be open outside of the proposed working hours.

Motorists are asked to use caution when approaching the bridge, especially from the north as the sight distance will be reduced due to the necessary location of the portable traffic lights.

Motorists are further advised to comply with all temporary signposting, speed limits and traffic control measures.

effort will be made to minimise impacts.
