ADRIFT: The Shark Net at Bar Beach succumbed to heavy seas and come adrift again.
LAST week the shark net at Bar Beach came adrift in the huge seas that were being experienced all along the coast.
Eurobodalla Shire Council’s Warren Sharpe said that he was aware the huge seas had impacted the net.
“Our crews inspected earlier in the week and are investigating the cost of repair,” he said.
The incident has occurred less than two and a half years since the shark net was replaced after it became adrift on numerous occasions.
Council workers conducted many rescue and repair operations before it was so damaged it was removed.
A new $9,000 net was installed in September 2010 thanks to the fundraising efforts of the Narooma community who matched Council dollar for dollar to replace the net.
