Bermagui's citizen of the year

MEMBERS of The Bermagui Seaside Fair Committee wish to congratulate Elizabeth Smee for being chosen as the Bega Valley Shire Council's Citizen of the Year.

Chairperson of the Seaside Fair Committee, Ms Jo Jacobs said “everyone in Bermagui is absolutely delighted to learn that Elizabeth has won this Shire wide award.”

“Elizabeth is one of our many stalwarts who donate their time most generously to the people of our beautiful village”.

“What we need now is for the people of Bermagui to nominate their own Seaside Fair Citizen and Junior Citizen of the Year, to be announced on March 9 at the 16th annual Fair.

Nomination forms are now available and may be placed in the special boxes provided at Bermagui Country Club, Horizon Credit Union, Bermagui Visitor Information Centre, Bermagui Post Office, and 777 Supermarket and Deli.

There is no age limit and nominations will close on Wednesday, February 20.

Ms Jacobs said, “Bermagui has so many amazing people who volunteer their time for many different organisations, whether it be Rural Fire Service, Montreal Goldfield, SES, CWA, Men's Shed, CRABS, Four Winds Festival, Surf Club, Junior Football, Sculpture on the Edge, and much more.

“It should not be too hard to find a special person that you believe is worthy of being crowned this award, but you need to nominate them, so that they may be considered a winner.”

So come on everyone in Bermi and surrounds, put your thinking caps on and pen to nomination form, and let’s show the rest of the Shire just how amazing our volunteers are.”
