Another car theft
POLICE are investigating the fourth case of car theft for the purpose of joyriding in the past few weeks.
In each case, vehicles stolen in Narooma and one in Akolele were stolen in the early hours and then found in the morning nearby either completely or partially burned.
The latest incident saw a Mitsubishi tabletop utility stolen from Sheaffe Street in central Narooma between 2.30am and 6am last Wednesday.
Police found the partially burned-out utility at 10.50am at nearby Bay Lane. Crime scene officers collected forensic evidence and police are awaiting the results.
Those responsible or anyone with information about any of the car thefts is urged to contact either local police or make an anonymous report to Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000.
Negligent driving
A 19-year-old Victorian man was charged with negligent driving after he rolled his Hyundai Excel on a bend on the Bermagui Tathra Road just north of Head of Cuttagee Road.
The car left the road at 11.40am on Saturday, hitting an embankment and completely rolling over and back onto its wheels.
Rear ender
THE local male driver of a Mazda sedan that rear-ended a VW Golf on the Princes Highway just south of Dalmeny Drive in North Narooma just after 11am on Friday was given a ticket for following to closely.
The accident occurred when the first car attempted to turn into a driveway and resulted in oil being spilled onto the highway blocking both lanes until both cars and debris could be removed.
Unlicensed drinker
POLICE stopped a Commodore on McMillan Road, Narooma at 12.50am on Saturday for a random breath test and found the driver to be a 17-year-old local girl who was unlicensed.
She was also charged with special range drink driving as she recorded a reading of 0.041 back at the station.
Fishing gear stolen
FISHING gear was stolen from the back of a Ford Ranger utility parked off the Princes Highway 5km south of the Wandella Road near Cobargo between 1pm and 6pm on Thursday.
Fishing rods and reels, a tackle bag and a fish finder were taken.
Trailer stolen
POLICE received a report that a refrigerated van/trailer was stolen from a property at Christophers Road, Quaama sometime between 3pm on Saturday and 9am on Monday.
Plants found
POLICE acting on information last Wednesday visited a residence on Ernest Street, Dalmeny where they spoke to the resident and located three cannabis plants.
Dried leaf and paraphernalia were also confiscated and the resident was charged with cultivation and possess a prohibited drug and will appear in Narooma court.
