Narooma and area police report

Rollover vehicle

SOON after midday last Wednesday, February 13 a Honda CRV was upturned as it travelled along a dirt road.

The female driver had two passengers on board when she failed to negotiate a bend on Riverview Road.

One of the passengers was pregnant and although she didn’t complain of any injury she was taken to hospital for precautionary measures.

The vehicle was towed away after it was put upright.

The p-plater driver from Woonona was issued with a ticket for negligent driving.

Mystery Bay mischief

IT was a busy night in Mystery Bay for holiday-makers and mischief-makers.

Two vehicles parked in different holiday accommodation were broken into and an iPod and a wallet were stolen.

Four youths allegedly stole alcohol from campers, banged on caravans and set fire to a clothesline. Campers followed the youths to a house party and contacted police.

Police caught up with the 14 and 15-year-olds that made admissions.

Further enquires are being made by police to determine what action will be taken.

Amo dumped

AN ex-military ammunition box containing ammunition and other items was found on the nature strip under a tree in Corunna Street, Narooma, on Sunday afternoon.

Police suspect it was stolen and are trying to track the rightful owner.

Break and enter

A HANDBAG and a laptop were stolen from a residence in Bluewater Drive, Narooma on Saturday night.

The handbag was recovered a few streets away without any cash.

Bermi brawl gets ugly

A FIGHT broke out between four people in their late twenties from the local area at around 12.30pm on Sunday morning outside a Bermagui licenced premises.

One person was smashed in the face with a beer bottle and suffered lacerations before the group separated.

Shortly after, one of the people was hit by a swerving car.

Police arrived soon after but the vehicle got away.

The vehicle has since been located and seized and is undergoing forensic examination.

Two people were taken to hospital.

Wallet stolen

AT around 10pm on Friday a wallet was stolen from the poker machine area of licenced premises in Narooma.

Scooter found

A KID’S scooter was found at Bar Beach on Wednesday, February 13.

Two cars stolen

TWO cars that were stolen on Thursday night and later recovered having sustained damage have been seized and are undergoing forensic examination.

A grey Holden Commodore station wagon was stolen from outside a house in Maculata Circuit, Dalmeny after the keys were stolen from within the house.

The car was later found, with damage to the front end, in Ballingalla Street, Narooma.

A second car was stolen from outside a house in Costin Street, Narooma, again after the keys were stolen from inside the house.

As the robber tried to take the car the owners were alerted and ran out to confront the man.

After some yelling and physical confrontation the offender made off with the vehicle.

Police soon located the car in Dalmeny with a shredded tyre and damage to the front end.

Rear-ender clarification

NAROOMA News has been asked to clarify the “Rear-ender” item in last week’s police report with the VW Golf rear-ending the Mazda and not the other way around.
