Narooma Men’s Shed gains momentum

THE Narooma Men’s Shed is building up a collection of tools and equipment thanks to the generosity of many families and individuals.

The latest acquisition has been a large lathe that was donated by Leonie Pollock and family. Members of the Men’s Shed are grateful to the Pollock family and other generous families and business people who have assisted in getting the shed up and running.

Many thanks go to Ken Latimer from Narooma Tilt Trays who donated his services to transport the lathe, twice, and Gary Bennett who babysat the beast while in storage.

Truss Plus was kind enough to donate a combination wood working machine and delivered it together with some magnificent timber. Kevin Cowley of Narooma Building Supplies helped out with unloading.

“While a lot of work is being done to set up we still remain mindful that we are operating in a temporary location and we need to obtain a more permanent home in the very near future, possibly less than 12 months,” Rob Atkinson said.

“Our goal is to make this happen as soon as practical now that we have the support of the community and the Men's Shed members.”

Any further assistance in achieving their goal will be greatly appreciated by the fellows of the shed.
