NAROOMA Leisure Centre proved to be a great venue for the Narooma ‘Shoot the Hoop’ three on three basketball event on Sunday.
Over 50 participants enjoyed the competition with teams entered from Bermagui, Wallaga Lake, Narooma, Moruya, Dalmeny and Pambula/Merimbula.
Teams competed on the day showcasing their talent and love of basketball.
Both young and old joined in at the fun day organised by Eurobodalla Shire Council’s Youth Services with support from the Nyarmin Aboriginal Trust providing great prizes for the winning combinations and standout players.
Eurobodalla Shire Council mayor, Lindsay said, “It takes quite a few people to work together and make successful events happen and many thanks must go to all the numerous volunteers who helped, not only on the day, but also in the planning of ‘Shoot the Hoop’.”
The participants enjoyed their day and even the heavy rain in the morning did not dampen their attempts to arrive at the venue in readiness for the much awaited event and the thrill of competition.
