THE proponents of the Narooma Retirement Village (NRV) have scaled back their proposal to the original plan for 46 units on the site of the old Narooma Sporting and Services Club.
The plan to expand the facility to 60 units that would have seen the council car park next to the Narooma Kinema rejigged with access off the back at Bowen Street was abandoned after nearby landowners and business people opposed any loss of parking or access.
Eurobodalla Shire Council planners called a meeting between the proponents and concerned residents at the CWA Hall, which will be demolished with new facilities built in the development for the ladies.
Club board president Graham Reeve said he expected a new scaled-back development application would be submitted by the NRV Group to Eurobodalla Shire Council in the near future.
The new plan will still see an underground car park built and the spaces in the car park adjacent to the old club will be taken up by the new development leaving 40 or so spaces in the council car park for the general public.
