THE newly formed Bermagui Blue Balls winters swimmers held their final swim on Sunday, which they reckon was by far their best.
Having been inspired by their Narooma Numnutz brothers, they decided to jump in at a little beach on the inside of the northern breakwater at Bermagui harbour.
“Entering the water we were quickly picked up by the outgoing tide which took us past the end of the breakwaters at which time we took a dog leg left onto the northern beach,” club founder Gary Pearse said.
“Bundies all round and back to the pub where our great supporter Dave was pouring beer like a one armed bricklayer in Beruit.
“Any suggestions on how we could improve numbers would be great. No, swimming in summer is not an option!”
The Blue Balls are planning a Christmas swim.
