MINOR premiers Narooma met second place Broulee at Moruya on Sunday, playing for a place at the grand final in two weeks. This was always going to be a tough game with both teams playing hard for a win. The ball went from end to end in this game, with Narooma’s defenders working overtime and the mid field and strikers running hard. Kallista settled everyone’s nerves by scoring, but unfortunately Broulee came back with a goal of their own.
Later in the second half Narooma scored again, but with only 30 seconds to go Broulee found the back of the net. This put the game into extra time. Again, Narooma scored, with a great goal from Lilly, but yet again Broulee replied with a fast paced goal. When the referee blew his whistle, the girls were faced with a penalty shootout. This is always a difficult way to find a winner, and there were lots of nerves. However, Ashley did a great job and kept a clean sheet, while Lilly and Kat both scored for Narooma, securing them a grand final berth. This was a nail biting and stressful game, but the girls all rose to the challenge and were deserved winners. Special mention goes to Abby Stokes who had an awesome game in defence and was the FunkiFadz and Narooma Sign Art player of the match. Well done - see you at the grand final.
