THE Animal Welfare League’s annual Tailwaggers Walk is on again on Sunday and these three dogs and their owners have been busy brushing up on their obedience so that they can give you a demonstration after the walk. Of course they can’t wait to go in the walk itself and rub shoulders with our celebrity dog Digger and his owner Paul West from River Cottage. What a treat that will be for them to mingle with such glittering celebrities.
But there is much more to Tailwaggers than just the walk. There are games and show ring events after the walk and many fantastic prizes donated by local businesses in the community. And the Dalmeny Firies always put on a great barbecue for hungry walkers. Every dog gets a goody bag at the end with treats for both them and humans. It is only $5 to take part in the walk which traces the foreshore in front of the caravan park all the way to the end of the boardwalk. But if you or your dog can’t manage the distance you can do as much or as little as you like. Registrations are open from 9am and the walk starts at 10am at NATA Oval behind the Visitor Information Centre. So come along and enjoy this beautiful weather and a great day out with the whole family.
