EUROBODALLA Shire Council is calling on the community to provide feedback on the draft landscape design plans that have been developed for the second phase of the Narooma Streetscaping Project.
The draft design plans are now on exhibition on council’s website, www.esc.nsw.gov.au, and at the customer service centre in Moruya, Narooma Library and Narooma Visitors’ Centre until Friday.
Chair of the Narooma Streetscaping Sunset Advisory Committee, mayor Lindsay Brown, says council has received 30 submissions on the landscaping plans so far, after consulting with the Narooma Chamber of Commerce and members of the community in August.
The plans for the flat area between Wharf and Field streets have been developed by council’s landscape architect following the first round of consultation with Narooma businesses and residents in March this year.
The proposed landscaping works are to be implemented in conjunction with the current civil construction works and should be completed by the end of June 2014.
Information on the draft landscape design plans and the trees that are proposed to be removed can be found on the Narooma Streetscaping Project page of council’s website.
“Before the final landscape design is finalised, council will make sure it includes an extensive amount of new tree plantings to compensate for the loss of each tree along the Narooma flat,” said Cr Brown. “The new plantings will provide significant improvements to the visual amenity, enjoyment and accessibility of this part of town.
