LITTLE Yuin Aboriginal Preschool celebrated the joy of reading with babies and toddlers and their families on last Tuesday.
At Book Buzz 1 there was an Open Day with the older children celebrating their art and language in a dress up parade on their dreaming path.
Parents and children shared the older children‘s art display, a storyboard for the picture book they are writing.
Then they were buddies to give book bags of board books to the younger children.
Lea Sutherland, the preschool teacher shared the story “Where is the Green Sheep” by Mem Fox with the children, parents and visitors.
The Book Packs of 10 special board books were gifted to the younger children and visiting babies from the Indigenous Literacy Foundation.
This was part of ongoing celebrations of Indigenous Literacy Day on September 4. A special thank you to them from the Little Yuin Community.
Spring clean for Little Yuin Pre-School
FRIDAY was a great day for Little Yuin Pre-school. It’s the day 20 workers from the local police, Eurobodalla Council, Red Cross, CWA and the RFS State Mitigation worked alongside Little Yuin staff and volunteers to give the pre-school a Spring clean.
Gutters were cleared, toys disinfected, gardens cleared, paths washed and rubbish removed by the crew to continue to provide a safe space for the children to play and learn.
Involved in the clean-up were Eddie Moore, Donna Clarke, Tommy McElpin, David Bates (police), Jason Snell, Dino Zoicco, Rob Nicol, Paul Davis, Adam Hill, Craig Willson (RFS State Mitigation), Terry Hill (Eurobodalla Council), Shanna Provost, Tanya Gupta, Lauren Crouch, Natasha Chabbra (Red Cross), Megan (CWA), Joy Stanton, Carolyn and daughter Carla Constable and Lea Sutherland (Little Yuin).
