GET ready these school holidays for Narooma’s next SK8 and Scooter competition which is on Saturday, October 5 at the skate park on Riverside Drive.
Eurobodalla Shire Council mayor, Lindsay Brown says the program has been developed to encourage participation at all levels.
“There will be Skateboarding Australia (SbA) clinics, pro demos on skateboards and scooters plus competitions for all levels of rider,” Cr Brown said.
He said last year’s event saw local riders and holiday travellers from Germany participating in competitions and entertaining the crowd.
“There were some amazing feats and this year’s event promises to be just as good,” he said.
There will be some great prizes on offer thanks to SbA and to council’s local sponsors, Narooma Skate and Surf and Quota International.
The mayor says the Narooma competition will now be an annual event and there are plans in the pipeline to present more in partnership with Skateboarding Australia at the Eurobodalla’s other skate parks in Broulee, Moruya and Batemans Bay.
“We are hoping to provide other skate and scooter activities for locals and visitors during holiday times to encourage everyone to get active and enjoy our great facilities,” Cr Brown said.
Once again the Narooma Lions Club and St John Ambulance will support the Narooma SK8 and Scooter event with food, drinks and first aid.
You can follow Eurobodalla Shire Council’s skate and scooter news and download entry forms online at www.esc.nsw.gov.au. All competitors must wear and supply their own helmet and people under 18 must have their entry form signed by a parent.
