CONGRATULATIONS to Narooma youngsters Clifford Taylor and Zac Cowley-Hilton who participated in the Queanbeyan Tigers Australian Football Club’s under 15 premiership victory over the Gungahlin Jets on Saturday.
The boys, who had trained all year with the Narooma Lions and despite the tyranny of distance still managed to adapt well to the strong team culture at Queanbeyan.
The Grand Final was a one-sided affair and was a testament to the Tigers’ determination, having not finished with the season’s minor premiership.
The final scores were Queanbeyan 15-12-102 defeated Gungahlin 4-6-30. Both Clifford and Zac performed strongly in the win.
The boys had been approached by one of the Queanbeyan coaches and invited to play in the ACT after he had coached them in an earlier ACT/South Coast Cats Representative competition.
Clifford and Zac are excited by what lies ahead for them in their footy career and are proud to have played in a competitive league within Australia's premier football code. They would like to thank their parents for spending most Saturdays driving them to Canberra and back and their coaches and the tigers club and the Narooma Lions for letting them participate in training sessions throughout the season.
To come away with a grand final win was icing on the cake after a great season of footy.
