WHAT a day! The Under 12's Narooma Devils were victorious over a gallant Eden Tigers to the tune of 26-12. This victory was capped off a wonderful year of football for these outstanding young footballers.
Going into the Grand Final with only one loss for the season, which happened to be against our opponents, the boys set themselves some goals and we are proud to report that they were all achieved during the match.
The Devils were shocked into action early after conceding the first try however rallied quickly to hit back immediately. Great inspirational ball running was witnessed by Bradley O'Sullivan, Terrence Callaghan, Riley Breust, Joel Sweeney and Kade McGrath. They set the platform for many raids on the opposition's try line.
Our play makers, Marcus Lonsdale-Patten, Kaleb Moritz, Shannon Miller and Tully Wilton were outstanding, setting up and capitalising on many point scoring opportunities. Ammon Beard, William Middlemiss and Cooper Paulic all took their chances running great lines and making hard yards.
Our back three, the fullback and wingers which were Connor Bruest, Mitchell Swadling and Koorin Parsons-Campbell where mistake free setting up many wonderful counterattacking raids from deep in our own end.
Blake Zideluns was menacing out wide and neutralised one of Eden's potent weapons in rhe process. However, defence was one key indicator of our success and Liam Sweeney led the way in this department and he was ably supported by Adam Westrip who both demonstrated a toughness which the opposition ball runners were attempting to avoid.
A special mention goes to Arnhem Campbell who has played all year however injury outside of football saw him miss this match.
All in all, spectators witnessed a wonderful team effort! Liam Sweeney was judged to be 'Man of the Match' by the Group 16 officials however this award could have easily gone to five or six other players too!
Our point scorers were Marcus Lonsdale-Patten (2), Liam Sweeney, Blake Zideluns and Connor Breust tries with conversions kicked by Marcus Lonsdale-Patten, Liam Sweeney and Shannon Miller.
I must take this opportunity to thank the boys for an outstanding year! They were a pleasure to coach. To Craig Swadling, who I shared this coaching experience with this year and won't ever forget it, I thank you too.
Also to the parents and supporter of our side, I say thank you as well. They have watched this group of boys come from not winning a game last year to premiers. Your support has been appreciated this year!
Finally ... "Who Are We - Devils!"
Under 11 Junior Rugby League
THE season has come to an end and I must say I couldn't be any prouder of the boys’ effort. Initially in the first half of the season we barely won a game but by the end I had a group of committed 11-year-olds listening to their coach and trying to put into practise what they did at training. We began to win games and play as a team. Unfortunately in terrible weather conditions, we missed out on a grand final spot, going down 10-6 in a hard fought match. I'd like to thank all the players for never giving up and trying their best, which is all any coach can ask for. Thank you also to Justin Bennett for his assistance each week. Have a great summer boys and I look forward to seeing you progress even further in the next Rugby League season.

Narooma Under 8s
THE little Devils had a good season this year only losing on three occasions and winning at least 12 times including round robin carnivals. No competition points or score are kept for this grade but the devils compiled a healthy for and against.
A great group of boys and a girl all contributed to the team effort and I hope they come back and play for the Narooma club in the years to come.
Players: Rose Longbottom, Khallum Ohlsen, Brice Hastie, Ethan Griffiths, Mitchell Hutshison, Kye Kelly, Byron Lonsdale-Patten, Noah Smith, Ozzy Rose, Jacob Hodge, Ashton Ellis, Max Buckley, Raymond Campbell and Amos Williams.
The team improved all through the year with all players playing major roles in different games.
Thanks to the committee and all others for a good year and we look forward to the future with high hopes.
A special thanks to Karl Smith for his help through the year.
