Bermagui bowling news
FINALISTS are gearing up for the 2013 Mixed Championships to be played soon. Husband and wife teams made the semi-final one worthy for a final. Ron and Denise McGlashan fought out the 21 ends against John and Joan Roach to 20 all on the 19th end. Scoring two on the 20th end, the J’s held the lead. The 21stend gave Ron and Denise only one shot, leaving John and Joan the qualifiers.
The other semi-final game was Vic Clegg and Nancy Whackett versus Neville Fogwell and Yvonne Taylor. The tricky breeze made play a little difficult, but going through to the final to meet John and Joan Roach are Neville and Yvonne.
Congratulations and good bowling to all.
Thursday women’s bowls took on a social competition again, with the social get-together after the game – a winner.
The newly introduced jackpot did not go off, but the day’s raffle was a winner for Claire Luland, the second draw going to Irene Sutton.
With weather conditions adverse for fishing, visitors from country NSW and Qld were welcomed on Sunday morning to the mixed game. But its congratulations to another husband and wife team – Kevin and Nerada Holzhauser – having a win on the day. The Sunday jackpot went the way of Mark Minett.
