GERMAN backpacker Andreas Wintraken and his girlfriend Linda are currently staying in Narooma and just love the fishing.
“Nice fishing you've got!” Andreas let us know.
“I just love the Australian fishing. Great fights, big diversity and so many species to target!”
Among his successes has been a luderick caught on fly at the boat ramp at Wagonga Inlet while it was raining.
He and Linda also got into the barracouta that went absolutely mad with a few big salmon some days ago.
“Right when we slipped the boat in, a feeding frenzy began - all the birds were diving in one spot - and each cast was a fight,” he said.
“In the end we caught eight barracouta, a small snapper and a small tailor.
“My girlfriend unluckily lost two really big salmon when they jumped out and a couple of barracouta.
“The barracouta spat out some small baitfish as we landed them.”
All the fish were caught on lures, Andreas using a Nils Master Invincible in 11cm and orange, while Linda used a small 25g metal bait.
Well done guys and we look forward to seeing more of your catches!
