THE federal government has clarified funding arrangements for schools following confusion over the future of the Gonsky school reforms, including provision of additional funding of $2.8 billion over the next four years.

The Member for Eden-Monaro, Peter Hendy said that government, Catholic and independent schools throughout Eden-Monaro would now have funding certainty for the next four years.
He said the government would restore $1.2 billion in additional funding over the next four years and cut red tape and stop Canberra interference in schools.
The Government will also honour funding promised to non-government representative bodies for four years, including $55 million to Catholic Education Commissions and $110 million to the Association of Independent Schools.
