THE end of the official 2013 surf season was marked by the annual presentation night for Surf Sistas recently. Loads of delicious food was on offer courtesy of the "bring a plate" request. A massive thanks to everyone that contributed to bringing along goodies and also for all those that cooked the barbecue, prepared meals, set up the hall and packed up afterwards.

There were many trophies handed out on the night, but everyone that's surfing is a winner and all the surfers and families enjoyed the night.
The major awards for the night were as follows:
Rookie of the Year went to a surprised but deserving winner Sue Lawson.
Club Person of the Year was the always busy Dave Moore.
TOAD (Take off and Die) award went to the amazing Nicky Cowie.
Technical Maneouvre Award was taken out by Georgia MacDonald.
A massive thanks must go out to the stalwart organisers of everything that is "Surf Sistas", Mick and Sue Anderson, who tirelessly work all throughout not only the comp season, but throughout the year to provide such an amazing atmosphere and opportunities not only for the smallest grommets, but also all the ages up to the "veterans". We all appreciate it immensely.
A huge thanks must also go to the ever supportive sponsors, who without their help and sponsorship, we couldn't go ahead. Marilyn and Terry Heaney from Narooma Surf and Skate, Arthur Marshall from Marshall Surfboards, Geoff and the team at Rapley's Meats, Eliska and the gals at The Hair Room, Mick Pepper from Pepper Signs and Designs, Surfing NSW and our newest sponsor - Andrew McCautrie from South Coast Paddleboarding. Thank you.
Mick announced that 2014 will see the launch of an Open Female Surf Comp and plans will continue to get this underway... hopefully in October 2014... Entries open to any female surfers, all ages, from anywhere.
If you have ever wanted to give surfing a go (or your daughters want to), Surf Sistas is a great chance to learn the skills from basics all the way up; in a professional and affiliated club. Training will restart in around February 2014, with comp season for 2014 not long after... so get in touch and get in the water.
