The ilyo competitors Bethany Partridge and Bradley O'Sullivan with coach Zoe Cooper and head coach Paul Cooper tackled the state on Sunday, November 24.
In a lightweight division, Bethany was uncontested in both of her divisions, scoring two gold.
“Keen for a bout though we managed to secure her a fight with a more experienced red belt from Canberra,” coach Zoe Cooper said.
“It was gutsy, fast and well scored with Bethany just succumbing to her opponents’ experience 3-1 taking home the silver.”
Bradley was also uncontested in one division but had a bout in his other division against a boy from Sydney TKD, this proved to be a battle of stamina.
There were some nice kicks and some nice scores by both boys.
Bradley executed his push-kick nicely, earning him a point and $10 from his coach - final score 6-12.
“Well done and thank you to both the kids and their families and the ilyo students who came up to support,” Ms Cooper said.
Tilba TKD meanwhile held its first sparring competition last Thursday opening the club to the public, and the night was about the kids experiencing what it’s like to compete in front of a crowd.
More on the competition in an upcoming edition…
The next event is the break-up barbecue at Mystery Bay on Thursday, December 19 and then they restart training on March 4, then they are off to the South Coast Open in Nowra on March 9.
