Rough weather kept boat traffic down but the units would like to see more boaties do the right thing and log on before heading out.
There was a tow-in of a broken down fishing boat from of off Glasshouse Rocks on January 2, while the afternoon before the Narooma unit also searched for a grey inflatable boat sighted off Dalmeny.
Nothing could be located after a two-hour search and it was chalked down as a false alarm.
Narooma unit commander John Young was pleased to accept a donation of $500 from the Dalmeny Deviates toward the new Mill Bay pontoon that has to be complete by the time the Narooma’s new 10-metre rescue RHIB arrives in March.
“We at Marine Rescue Narooma are continually grateful to our local community and its visitors for their kind and generous support,” Commander Young said.
