Preparations are well underway, but have had one hiccup - unfortunately we cannot open the time capsule!
The plaque in the amphitheatre states it is to be opened in 2039 - 50 years after the centenary and not 25!
Our apologies to all, especially to Mrs Joan Constable who gathered the items included in the capsule.
A cocktail evening is to be held on Saturday, March 22 at the Narooma Golf Club.
Tickets will go on sale later - more details to follow.
To those who were around in the “Debus Era”, the “Narooma Players” will be well remembered with the many productions organised from 1979 - 1989. Brian Debus, then principal, the force behind the theatre group, is organising a get together for all members of the Narooma Players on Friday, March 21. More details will follow.
Our photo exhibition is coming together. Many thanks to all who are, or who have contributed with both photos and names!
Are there any 1955 photos out there? We are also looking for more from 1962, 66, 67 and 69. These are fairly scarce.
Raffle tickets will go on sale this month. Look out for us outside the Newsagency and IGA. Thanks again to all who have donated:- Trip to and tour of Montague Island from National Parks and Wildlife and Narooma Charters, one night at Amaroon Court, three nights Island View Beach Resort, $100 Dinner at Whale Motor Inn, two nights Big 4 Caravan Park, Auto Spares, Betta Electrical, Mitre 10, two nights at Narooma Palms and Gaye Spears.
Proceeds will of course go to the school. The raffle will be drawn during the cocktail evening.
Congratulations also to the Men’s Veteran rowing team in the George Bass Surfboat Marathon.
More than half the team - Brendan, Nigel and Jae Constable, Glen Wilton and Stuart Croser were pupils at Narooma Public.
Congratulations to the other members, Adam Morris, Rod Patmore, Johnny Davis and Unto Holopainen.
These gentlemen all have children at the school. Well done boys!
