Telstra regional manager Chris Taylor told the Narooma News at 3.15pm on Monday that a crew was in the process of accessing the line on the rural property and attempting to get the landowner to remove livestock.
An excavator was on the scene ready to start digging.
Taylor said the universal service obligation meant the line had to be repaired by Wednesday, January 29, he expected the line to hopefully be repaired either tonight or Tuesday.
Businesses in these areas had been impacted on over the Australia Day long-weekend losing out on business due to the lack of EFTPOS service.
Taylor said at this time it was not known how the line had become damaged, but this should become clearer once crews accessed the fibre cable for repairs.
