BETWEEN February 2 and 12, an unknown person damaged a relocatable cabin situated at caravan park in Narooma. The destruction was caused by turning off the power to a cabin which resulted in damage to a fridge and the perishables inside. The culprit also shut off the power to several other cabins.
Stolen vehicle
A 2007 Subaru Outback was stolen from Lonsdale Parade, Dalmeny on Monday, February 3. A screwdriver was used to break into the car.
The car was driven by two people to Narooma where the offenders changed vehicle registration plates. Three friends were picked up in Narooma and Bodalla.
Meanwhile, police attending an unrelated domestic dispute in Dalmeny obtained information regarding the offenders.
On February 6, police attended an address in Bodalla where they spoke to a suspect and went to another address in Bodalla.
On arrival, four people fled the premises. Police gave chase and apprehended the four who were hiding in a neighbouring property.
One of them took police to bushland on Eurobodalla Road where they believed the stolen vehicle to be located.
However, when they arrived the car was gone appearing to have been re-stolen.
Police were informed the following day that the stolen Outback was at the old Bodalla Public School on Eurobodalla Road. The vehicle was found in a garage and has been preserved for prints.
Police continue their investigations.
Grog theft
AN Esky containing 18 cans of Bundaberg Rum and Coke and 18 cans of Toohey’s New was stolen from outside a caravan at a caravan park in Narooma.
A male Aboriginal suspect was reported as being seen, possibly sporting a plaster cast on one arm.
The theft occurred between 9pm on February 3 and 7pm the following day.
Oyster theft
OYSTERS have again mysteriously gone missing from a lease in Wagonga Inlet.
Around 3000 small oysters were stolen from Bryce’s Bay in the last few days of January.
Then, between February 5 and 7, three trays containing 1200 large oysters were stolen and between February 8 and 10, 200 small oysters were taken from the same farm.
The total value of the oysters that have gone missing is $2300.
Stolen cash
About 10.30pm on Saturday approximately $5000 was stolen from a safe at Paul’s on the Course at the Narooma Golf Club.
Police have a suspect and are continuing their investigations.
Car accident
YET another vehicle accident has occurred on the Princes Highway at Dignams Creek.
The incident occurred at 9pm on Sunday when a southbound red Mazda collided with a Hilux coming the other way.
One of the drivers was taken to hospital.
Both parties claim the other driver was at fault and anyone who may have witnessed the incident should contact police.
Stubbies stolen
A MAN believed to be aged between 16 and 20 years was seen stealing four stubbies of James Squire beer from a liquor store in Bermagui.
The suspect had short brown hair, a tattoo on his left calf, was wearing a black singlet and dark rugby shorts, and was carrying a black back pack.
Sign damaged
An external shop sign was damaged at a furniture store in Narooma overnight last Wednesday.
