Far South Branch Carnivals hosted by Tathra SLSC
IT was a great finish to the carnival season with Tathra SLSC doing an amazing job hosting the final senior and junior branch carnivals. The surf boat rowers began the competition weekend with plenty of action, the big surf snapped the sweep oar, bending the steel rowlock however we are pleased to report all crew members returned to shore safely. Thank you to Tathra SLSC for loaning us a rowlock so we could continue to participate in the remaining events. The senior competition continued into the afternoon where our members did us proud with their sportsmanship and enthusiasm. Sunday saw a great turn out from the Narooma Nippers, many of which camped at Tathra overnight. Again, some pleasing results and lots of fun was had by all. It's great to see the marked improvement by so many of the Nippers over the season, it's rewarding to see how their skills have developed and the big smiles on their faces. Thank you to everyone who assisted and made the weekend run smoothly by helping with logistics, packing up, taking photos, covering patrols, to our officials and water safety personnel - many hands make light work. Nippers is back at Main Beach this Sunday - two more weeks to go. The final Nippers is on Sunday, April 6.
