MEMBERS of Marine Rescue Narooma travelled up to Yamba last week to check out their new 10-metre rescue boat before it is due to arrive in Narooma this Friday.
The vessel is being trucked down the highway and work continues on the upgrade of the unit’s berthing facilities and pontoon at Mill Bay so that it can be ready for the new boat.
The unit anticipates getting the new wharf installed over the new supports before Friday but connection of the walkway to the concrete shore-side concrete base remains problematic since the concrete was only poured last Friday afternoon, and it's a “voluminous” bit of concrete!
More in next week's Narooma News once we've toured the new vessel!!
