Contractors were seen on Sunday working on transferring the power from poles to underground cables.
They had to work on the weekend so that the businesses weren’t affected, but even so Club Narooma had generators on stand-by.
Locals may have also noticed in recent weeks the tearing down of amenities and trees adjacent to the Narooma Visitor Centre at NATA Oval.
A council spokesperson said after consulting with the community, the removal of trees and barbecue on the west side of Narooma Visitors Centre was in line with the landscape design that is based on extensive public consultation.
The works are part of the landscaping phase of the Narooma Streetscaping project – that will involve new trees, a new community hub with a children’s play feature near the visitors centre.
