Buddy and Red the pacers were rescued by Phil May and Sophia Moody, who now have them on their small property at Corunna Lake.
The couple have now started a new business called Narooma Horse & Carriage and plan to offer regular carriage rides for locals and tourists.
Locals may have noticed the horses and carriage going around the roundabout on Saturday morning.
Phil was able to source the classic carriage from a property near Inverell and it has been fully restored for the business.
The money made will help pay for the upkeep of the horses that they rescued from certain death.
“Despite being so big, they are so calm and eager to please,” Sophia said. “I call them my heroes.”
There are plans to take the horses and carriage to other towns and villages around the district and even to do headland rides and they were be perfect for weddings and other events.
Prices depend on the length of ride but they were charging between $20 and $30 for a 20 to 30 minute ride around the Narooma Flat.
The rides will be offered at the Narooma skate park every other weekend, so keep an eye out for Buddy and Red.
