Eurobodalla Shire Council Mayor, Lindsay Brown, says residents have chosen Tania Cardillo-Zallo’s photograph, ‘Flight’, as the winner of the $500 award.
“The votes were very close between two of the three photos that were the favourites for the People’s Choice Award and Tania’s photo of seagulls flying around her son was the most popular,” said Cr Brown
He said the photographic competition was a terrific event that attracted a lot of community participation.
“About 500 people visited the exhibition at the Mechanics Institute in Moruya from 16 – 18 May. We then received over 400 votes during the online People’s Choice Award poll and another 160 through the Moruya library,” Cr Brown said.
“The competition has provided Council with some amazing photographs that we will use in our publications, posters, newsletters and in our international as well as domestic tourism marketing campaigns. I am sure some of the photos may well entice someone from Germany or Denmark to bring their family to our shores for a holiday.”
Photographers who have not yet collected their images from the exhibition are reminded that they can collect them from the front counter of Eurobodalla Shire Council’s customer service centre in Moruya.
