The school performs a vital survice for the Aboriginal community at Wallaga Lake and it would be an absolute tragedy should it close.
It is much more than a preschool as it is at the heart of the community providing programs and activities for the youngsters and their families.
Good on Eurobodalla Shire Council and Katungal Corporation for coming on board where others have dropped the ball.
While the debate over funding continues, what we can do in the local area is enrol our children in the school, which caters for youngsters and families of all backgrounds.
Let’s hope that common sense prevails at the State Government level and funding is found to secure the long-term future of the preschool.
Well done to the Narooma delegation that travelled to the Turkish embassy to bring a back a flag for the 100th anniversary of Gallipoli at the Narooma RSL next year. A lot of effort is being put into this commemoration by the sub-branch.
Also well done to everyone from the Narooma Surf Life Saving Club recognised for their sporting achievements and volunteering.
The surf club is going great guns and with a huge class of Nippers at the moment, its long term future as a thriving club looks secure.
