An even a bigger well done to fisherman who alerted National Parks to the entanglement, because without this call who knows how long the poor whale would have struggled on for.
We are not sure whether he, or she for that matter, is commercial, recreational or charter, but either way, very well done.
It is great to see all that training paying off for the experts from National Parks and Marine Parks.
Moving on, it is also wonderful to see Narooma rallying around one of its own again.
Greg “Flanno” Flannery had a bad accident on his Harley, but now the community is coming to his side and helping to pay some of the bills.
If you want to help out, head down to The Drom Hotel this Saturday afternoon for the car and bike show being organised by his bike riding social club. If you have a flash car or bike, take it along too!
Then next weekend there will be another fundraiser at Club Narooma with lots of raffles and prizes.
Speaking of cars and fast things, make sure to check out the Narooma Forest Rally on again this weekend after being away for eight years.
It should be a real thrill to see the cars speeding through the forest. Let’s just hope that the wildlife, so plentiful in that area, can get out the way in time!
