KAREN Baker is collecting ties, to be made into bags as a fundraiser for Sunraysia Cancer Resources, who help people affected by cancer.

Boxes to deposit ties into are located at the Raw Pawn Bistro at O’Briens Hotel, at the Narooma IceCreamery, Jim Hoar’s Chemist, Smyths Clothing Store, Heads Together Hairdresser at the Plaza, and at the Community Health Centre at Narooma.

Ms Baker said that raising awareness was more important than raising funds.

“It’s important to get the message out there; get checked because early detection is the key,” Ms Baker said.

“If anyone is interested in buying a tie bag, call me on 0413 993 139.”

The ties are sewn into bags by volunteers in Victoria, and will be available for sale at the “I will Survive” night at Club Narooma, October 18.
