Narooma Golf Club general manager Dominic Connaughton said that the break was unexpected, and a different issue to work recently completed on the bridge.
“The bridge was inspected by the course superintendent, and the part of concern was fixed and passed,” Connaughton said.
“The area that snapped was a horizontal beam, that no-one expected would snap.”
The Club has negotiated with the Shire Council, who responded immediately with assistance.
“We have spoken to Council and they’re sending a qualified team in to see what can be done fix the problem,” Connaughton said.
“The club’s doing all they can to get the bridge fixed and get it up and running for the members as soon as we can.
“We’re not quite sure how long it will take, were hoping that it’s not going to take more than a few weeks,” he said.
