It was the annual bring-a-friend day which always boosts numbers as the regular swimmers are supposed to talk someone into swimming or face a fine.
Regular friends Brendan Constable and Onto Holopainen took the waters again in what was a suitably chilly winter morning.
The water was a reasonable 14 degrees though and the swimmers were coldest once out of the water.
There was a bit of a shock factor as public Paul O’Brien and chef Scotty Cavanagh both revealed themselves to be wearing man-kinis, Borat style.
As is tradition, the swimmers and their friends then retired to the warmth for soup and a card game of Chase the Ace.
Power problems at the Narooma Surf Life Saving Club, meant the swimmers weren’t able to do their traditional surf club roast, but as always the folk at O’Briens Hotel were more than welcoming.
Scotty at the Raw Prawn Bistro made up a delicious chunky beef and vegetable soup and there was even cake for swimmer Dawn Critcher who was celebrating a birthday.
River Cottage Australia host Paul West was away on a business trip at Brisbane but sent in the obligatory away swimming photo of him taking a dip at South Bank.
